Although the weather here in the Netherlands at the moment makes me think more of Autumn than Summer; it is actually still summer and at any moment the sun can come through and the tempertures can go up *still praying*. So to get a bit more in the summer spirit I am going for a very sunny look this time.

This look for example I wore a few weeks ago and that day it was hot, it feels like years ago sigh. This look started out a floral top with white shorts, but I decided that would be boring and to easy. I mean of course white and yellow go together easy, but I needed more of a challenge and than I remember this skirt. I thought I could go and see how these florals work together.

While the skirt is based on a black backdrop and the top on yellow the colors match just fine. If the skirt would have been longer and the shirt had long sleeves it would propably be too much print but as a summer look with enough skin these two prints work lovely.

Below I give you some options and looks you can buy yourself flowers all over! Want to see more? Go check out the rest of my page or go to my polyvlore page.

Black Country Lady #howtowearbyella

Howdie my lovelies! So for all you guys who know me for a while, I am a bit of country fan. I love the show Nashville and have been listening to country non stop the last couple of weeks. Artists like Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood are my favorite!

When it comes to clothing. First of all my addiction to hats is a big hint. But there is so much to love when it comes to country chic! Ofcouse there are the basics; cowboy boots, belts (the ones with the two buckles especially), the hats and the chokers.

Further on you got two basic looks: denim shorts, white tee, pointed cowboy boots and ofcourse the hats a.k.a. Cowboy casual. But you also got the cowboy classy look; meaning lots of lace, chic hats, belts and body hugging dresses en skirts. That is the style I have gone for in the look below.

I choose for an all black look and all though it seems like I am wearing a dress, I am actually wearing a skirt and top. When wearing an all black look it is fun to wear different kinds of black; black lace, black velvet, black leather and so on.
In this case it is somewhat different though. I wanted to create a look that would look like it was an whole instead of two different pieces. The tric here is to add a belt. The belts breaks the black look and kind of magically makes the two black look more similiar. It works the same with shoes and a top. Imagine if your shoes would have to be the exact same black as every black top you wear! The pants breaks the look and makes the two different colors black lookalike.

My instincts always tells me; go for the black hat. When I started wearing hats I was trying
lots of different ones. First a basic small black not that visible hat(or so I thought) and than a basic in between boho chic hat that was totally on trend in the festival season and after that I tried everything; A French baret, a summer hat, a small 'Charlie Chaplin' hat, a down town abby hat I mean literaly everyting. I am, happy to admit, a total hat addict.

Then a few months ago it happened, I found the perfect hat. It happened like it does with many of my clothing favorites I see them, they jump out at me and I don't know.. The hat was a bit more expensive than I would have liked especially cause I already hat like 4 black hats, but this one was something special so I bought it. The moment I got it I couldn't stop wearing it. The fit and model; it is perfect! But then I forgot about all my other hats. But now this hat is back on my radar and back in my garderobe for the next seasons to come. So my tip is; go through your closet once in a while go and look in the back and try some things you haven't worn in ages, maybe they suprise you or maybe it is simply time to pass them along to a friend or second hand shop.

Back to this outfit. When it comes to off shoulder tops I like them with a bit of sleeve. In my opinion it is a bit more chic that way and the naked shoulders are sexy enough. Also I love the lace on the bottom of this skirt. another touch which gives this look that little bit more class. Don't forget to check the fashion collage with shop options below!

70s Spring Vibes by howtowearbyella

Good day to all you sweet people!

As promised some more inspiration and shots from my seventies chic look on instagram @ellabeentjes. The fun thing about fashion is when it comes to trends they tend to return ever so often. So with the return of the flared pants I decided to go all seventies chic.

For my 70s spring vibes outfit I didn't go for the obvious; being a top with floral print. This would have been the perfect seventies as well as spring touch to a look. No, I chose a happy lilac top I used in another outfit you can find on this blog. With the styling of this one I decided to make black the main color. The last weeks I had been wearing a lot of soft colors and not a lot of black so I needed a change of pace. Plus the lilac and black compliment eachother beautifully.

I wanted to add some depth to the look and just a purple top and black pants would be way too easy. You guys know me I am all about the layers. So I added a crossover black top I bought at the H&M. Tip! Buy a few pretty tanktops/lingerie tops like this. I have one in black, one in white, and one in pink and well a lot more! They are a daily add to any of my looks so I am pretty much hoarding them! you can go for a crossover top but a top with nice lace details will also be a lovely layer to any look.

Adding a layer is my way of making a look mine. It is the perfect way to show your style. Unless it is really hot than it is the perfect way to show everyone you can sweat like a pig, atleast in my case. When/ if that day comes I'll give you another way to add a bit of you. I say if cause well I live in Holland. For us Dutchies that is enough, but I'll explain: hot weather isn't really a Dutch thing..

With this look the shoes don't really matter. The flared pants totally cover them up. Nevertheless I chose a black pair of ankle boots, to make sure that if you'd see them they wouldn't be out of place. Another reason for this is the fact my pants are flared and a bit too long so this way the pants hangs on my ankle boots. What you could do to make sure you don't fall over your flared pants is; add a pair of platform shoes to the look. I don't have them yet, but they are totally on trend!

Here below you can see this look while moving and see some close up details I added (plus love this song) :

In the collage below I give some examples of a look like mine you can buy yourself. The look on the left is a bit more preppy than hippy. By adding the cap the look gets a totally different fun vibe. Very on trend especially with the ruffled cropped pants.

The look in the middle is the most boho chic. The flared jeans are the perfect way to get the 70s vibes going. To make this look extra hippy like I added a cute flower crown to the mix and some cute flipflops. Something else you could add is a flowerprinted bag!

The look on the right is most like mine. A hat is always a great fashionable add to any look and totally my style. This hat does look a lot like mine. I heard a lot of people praising my hat so if you want a lookalike this is your chance. This look is a bit less girly than the others because of the crossover top and hat. These adds give more cool vibes. Also I went from ruffled, flared to cropped pants. Add a pair of leather black mules and get more of a rock chick vibe.

Frenchie Chic by howtowearbyella

Okay So I am a huge fan of the typical French chic look. In my mind it is all about: barrets, stripes, red lips, tule skirts, midi skirts and chic blouses. In this look I choose to combine the tule skirt with some pretty femine colors and ruffles for a real French chic feel.

Another thing that I like about this look is the combination of denim and pink. This addition keeps the outfit looking chic and elegant, but gives it a little edge to make it more playfull.
To get your own look I give you three different options with the base being: pink, denim and tule.

Another way to give an extra feminine feel to the mix is adding a cute barret or cat eye shades. Of course we are going for French chic location of Disney Land; so a cute pair of Mickey Mouse ears or heart shaped sunnies will always work.

Another perfect way to channel your inner frenchie is taking a medium striped blue and white shirt, some high waist black pants and a trenchcoat. Add a tiny silk scarve and you are
ready!

What kind of looks would you like to see? Have some suggestions for a style maybe?

Below some more pictures for inpsiration.
